Terms of Service
The practical rules for using the editor, browser-based solvers and optional workspace connections.
Effective
Agreement
By using Opt in the Browser, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service or connect a storage provider. Mandatory rights available under local law are not excluded by these terms.
The service
Opt in the Browser is a browser-based editor for mathematical optimization models. It runs GLPK, HiGHS, CBC and SCIP through WebAssembly and Web Workers. Browser workspaces, local folders and Google Drive workspaces are available depending on browser support and configuration.
Features may change, be interrupted or be removed. The service is provided without a promise of uninterrupted availability.
Your files and permissions
You retain ownership of the models, data and other files you use with the service. You are responsible for having the right to use and modify them. Connecting Google Drive grants only the permission needed to perform the file operations you request; it does not transfer ownership of your files.
You are responsible for maintaining backups. Local browser storage can be cleared by the browser or device, and synchronization conflicts or third-party outages can occur.
Acceptable use
You must not use the service to:
- Break applicable law or infringe another person’s rights.
- Access files or accounts without authorization.
- Disrupt, overload or attempt to bypass the security of the service or Google APIs.
- Distribute malicious code through files or links used with the service.
Optimization results
Solver output can be affected by model errors, numerical tolerances, browser limits, interrupted runs and software defects. You are responsible for reviewing models and validating results before using them for financial, operational, safety-critical or other consequential decisions. The service does not provide legal, financial or engineering advice.
Third-party services
Google Drive, Google Identity Services, Google Picker and Netlify are third-party services governed by their own terms and policies. Their availability and account restrictions are outside the operator’s control. A Google Workspace administrator may restrict access to third-party applications.
Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. No warranty is made that it will be error-free, meet every use case or preserve every local or remote file. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use of the service.
Suspension and termination
Access may be limited or discontinued to protect users, comply with law, respond to abuse or maintain the service. You may stop using the service at any time and revoke Google access through your Google Account.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the service changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
